FAQs

  • Nope! Virginia has direct access — meaning you can see a physical therapist without a doctor’s referral.

  • Every session at RX Physical Therapy is completely individualized and performance-driven. It all begins with a comprehensive, hour-long initial evaluation where we take the time to fully understand your story, your goals, and what’s been holding you back. From there, we perform an in-depth movement assessment and objective testing to identify the root cause of your pain or limitation — not just the symptoms.

Based on what we find, we’ll create a custom game plan tailored to your specific needs, goals, and sport demands. Each follow-up session builds on your progress, combining hands-on treatment, corrective exercise, and performance training to help you move better, feel stronger, and get back to doing what you love — without limitations.

  • At RX Physical Therapy, we intentionally opt out of insurance networks so we can provide the highest level of individualized care without the restrictions and limitations that come with traditional insurance-based models. This means no rushed sessions, no cookie-cutter treatment plans, and no arbitrary visit limits.

By operating out-of-network, we’re able to focus entirely on what matters most — you — and design treatment plans based on your goals, not what an insurance company dictates.

We can provide a superbill upon request so you can submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance

  • It’s a fair question — and the short answer is because you’ll actually get better, faster, and more personalized care.

In traditional insurance-based clinics, therapists often see 3–4 patients per hour and are limited by what insurance will “approve.” At RX Physical Therapy, every session is one-on-one with your Doctor of Physical Therapy for a full hour. This allows us to dig deeper into the root cause of your issue, create a custom performance plan, and help you get back to training stronger than before — not just pain-free.

Traditional insurance plans typically stop covering physical therapy once you’ve met basic milestones like range of motion and general strength — even though that’s often just the starting point for getting truly back to performing at your best.

Most clients find that even with fewer visits, they recover more efficiently and save time, money, and frustration in the long run.
